My thought process on the flop was that I have decent equity vs almost everything he has yet if I bet and get called I will be lost on a lot of turns. By check raising I let him bet/fold some hands that have equity and I make the hand easier for me to play (not a great reason to make a play I know but if I can make a play that may not be the best but stops me from making bigger mistakes I think that's ok)
Is my thinking right here? Did I play this well?
Thanks in advance.
