€50 plo, turn top set into a bluff?
BTN: €250.58
SB: €50.25
Hero (BB): €127.78
UTG: €116.40
CO: €50.75
SB posts SB €0.25, Hero posts BB €0.50
Pre Flop: (pot: €0.75) Hero has Qh 6c Js Qs
UTG raises to €1.75, fold, BTN calls €1.75, fold, Hero calls €1.25
The same villain as the previous hand; 18/13/4 over 400 ish hands.
Flop : (€5.50, 3 players) Jd 8h Qd
Hero checks, UTG checks, BTN bets €3.85, Hero calls €3.85, fold
I think raising would be fine too, but I block one of my outs and it would suck to get 3b with this hand. Also, I can rep a wider range by x/c'ing here because that's what I'm often gonna do with sets, 2p, FD, bare straight, etc., whereas x/r'ing defines my range narrowly.
With all that in my mind, I decided to flat.
Turn : (€13.20, 2 players) 6d
Hero checks, BTN checks
Although he can have some low flush that he's pot controlling with, he probably doesn't have a nut flush because he would want to build a pot with that. Of course he can have lots of straights too.
River : (€13.20, 2 players) 5h
Hero checks, BTN bets €13.20, Hero ??
River bricked and he pots into us. Given that his range is capped to non-nut parts, would this be a good x/r bluffing spot even though we block nothing? Tbh this deep, I would expect him to have barreled on turn with naked Ad too. And when I check twice on turn/river, my range should look quite capped to him as well.
In game I thought x/r > x/f > x/c, but is x/c ever an option?
