1/2 HU River Decision

BB: Hero: $247
SB: Villain: $224
So far, villain has been raising almost every hand preflop and has an almost 100% flop cbet %. This is about 25 hands into the match.
Preflop ($3.00) (2 Players)
Hero was dealt K 8 7 4
Villain raises to $6, Hero calls $4
Flop ($13.00) A 2 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, Villain bets $8, Hero raises to $26, Villain calls $18
Thought I'd take it down here a good amount considering how much villain is c-betting. Also a good hand to c/r bluff because backdoor nut flush draw and 2 pair potential. Maybe I should've raised like $22 instead.
Turn ($65.00) A 2 8 6 (2 Players)
Hero bets $46, Villain calls $46
Great card to continue. I think he would've raised his sets/top 2pr by this point.
River ($157.00) A 2 8 6 A (2 Players)
Should we check with 2nd pair top kicker? His range contains a ton of flush draws, and I'd expect most of his club draws to have a diamond draw as well or turned straight draw, all which missed. A decent amount of his club draws have some pocket pair > 8s that beats me. Is it worth it to try to bluff out those hands? I never expect to fold out an Ace. If we check, do we c/fold or c/call? I'm leaning toward c/call because of how many busted draws he shows up with, plus he doesn't have many boats and may not value bet weak Aces.
For some reason, I ended up betting $42 and getting called by KK36 with K-hi clubs. That bet was the worst option because it didn't accomplish anything. Is it worth it to bet bigger to try to bluff out the 99-KK with clubs types of hands or better to just c/call?
