We have second nuts on river - can we ever find a fold here? .5nl zone
HERO($5.45) is CO
Villian($9.71) is SB
HERO raises to .15 w 9Kcc
SB raises to .30
HERO calls .30
(pot .65)
I normally wouldnt call a raise w 9Kcc, however SB min raised and we're gonna be in position so thought the call was okay pre flop. Is this too light? Had he 3.5x/4x raised then i would fold but min raise seems too good of price.
FLOP: 4s Qh Jd
SB checks
HERO checks
(pot .65)
I decided to check back on the flop cause i dont think our hand plays well enough on later streets when we bet flop and get called. We have an over and a straight draw so maybe this is a bet when checked to us on the flop? What do you guys think? If we bet flop and get called then brick turn do we continue w betting or shut down?
TURN 7c
SB checks
HERO bets .35
SB calls .35
Once viilian checks turn I think we need to bet in order to target his Ax hands and small/mid pocket pairs to fold. I think checking here is too weak when villian checks to us twice. DO we ever check back here after checking flop or does that rly matter when villian double checks to us?
RIVER: 10s
SB bets .75
HERO raises to 2
SB raises to 4.99, and is all in
HERO calls
After villian calls the bet on the turn then leads river it looks so strong to me. Problem is we have the second nuts and only lose to one hand. I tried to think of what hands he leads river w that we beat - JT/QT is all i could come up w. I think all of his queens bet flop, his jacks lead turn and all of his sets play w a bet on flop or turn. So, he has to have either AK/JT/QT - i thought maybe he has 98s here some of the time but not often as we block one combo of that and i dont think he calls turn w 98s but could be wrong there. I think i like flatting this river more than i do raising. I dont think we get called enough by worse hands and when we're wrong we always get stacked given SPR when i raise his lead on river. I dont think its the worst raise ever but we def need to be folding when he shoves over the top as he no longer has JT/QT anymore. What do you guys think? Any insight/feedback is appreciated. Cheers.
SB has AKo wins ($10.41)
