Understanding or memorizing pio
I've been doing some pio analysis. Mainly looking at cbet strategy on flops and putting the flops in 2 categories; large cb or small cb.. I've been trying to wrap my head around some of the answers, trying to understand why pio uses the strategy it suggests. But I find it very hard to understand and wonder if I am wasting my time, and instead should just memorize the strategy.
I've been trying to play around with toy games, trying to edit ranges in order to influence the cbet strategy, and even reading mathematics of poker to deepen my understanding, but I'm still a far way off understanding.
Would love some advice, is memorizing pio patterns more useful than understanding them? If not, point me in the direction of something that will help me understand!
