Trips facing raise OTT vs super small value range

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (8 Players) CO: $50.00
BN: $48.79
SB: $105.03
BB: $35.32
UTG: $50.00
UTG+1: $89.86
MP: $68.92 (Hero)
MP+1: $56.39
reg has 8% cold call on MP and 9% on CO. foldvscbet 45/17/67 2k hands
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is MP with Q K
2 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, MP+1 calls $1.75, 4 folds
I almost never open KQo here, but BB is a semi fish.
Flop ($4.25) 9 K 5
Hero bets $2.11, MP+1 calls $2.11
std cbet as this is a board I will cbet often with my air
Turn ($8.47) 9 K 5 K
Hero bets $5.26, MP+1 raises to $17.36, Hero calls $12.10
board is semi dry and I think I can expect a new call with TT, JJ, QQ, A9. When he raises here I expect some gutters (I block some), some FD, and value. However I dont think AK will raise here, why would he right?. Also not everyone flats 55 in this spot, so I counted 99 and half 55 maybe. My idea was to call here and call river bricks.
At the moment I played the hand I forgot to check turn raise which is 50% IP (6).
River ($43.19) 9 K 5 K 2
Hero checks, MP+1 bets $35.17 and is all in, Hero calls $35.17
Final Pot MP+1 wins and shows a full house, Nines full of Kings.
MP+1 wins $111.03
Rake is $2.50

So is it ok to Cbet turn, or it would be safer to go for Check/Call twice ?
