Any recommendations on the best way to "study" this book?

On chapter 2 so far where the math is pretty straight forward up to where I am, but are there specific techniques people used (people who have completed the book) to undestand the concepts fully and impliment them into your game in such a way?
I will be spending around 1 hour 45 minutes per day during my travelling time on this book back and forth work.

PS I have the neccessary math to understand most of the concepts.
