UTG is a regular with 16% EP open and 20% cbet but just 150 hands. HJ is on the fishier side, no aggressive squeezers behind.

UTG raises to $3, HJ calls $3, Hero calls $3, BN folds, SB folds, BB folds

Calling here seems way the better play given the table conditions. I don't think we can iso HJ with a 3bet given tight UTG plus HJ is short, we don't want to make the SPR to low imo.

UTG checks,
HJ bets $4,
Hero calls $4,
UTG folds
Calling given our nut draw seems better with position. UTG can make put in some extra money in the pot with mediocre hands. HJ can indeed have some draws but we have the nut draw with position so if we both miss I usually win, while if we both hit I have very good implied odds.

Now he bets even smaller relative to the pot. Would you value raise? Calling for the same reasoning on flop? It's always kind of an awkward spot imo when our made hand is not extremely strong but the redraw gives us great equity against his range so we could probably value raise and stack off. Do you reckon it's better than calling?
