Sauce1234 hand discussion
Okay, I have been watching all of sauce's videos starting since his inception here. I have been a member for a month or so now so I am not quite done watching them all as I take each video and analyze it closely. I saw in a 6max video an interesting hand that wasn't discussed much and figure its too late to start discussion on it so I figured I would bring it up here.
So, btn min raised to $40 and Sauce called with KTo from the BB. Flop cam Kh9h5s and Sauce check called for $60. Turn came a 2c and it went check check. River 4 and Sauce value bet for around $195 (nearly the pot). The guy called with As2h. Sauce claimed this to be bad.
My thoughts: yes, it is not a great call. But I wanna discuss this board and ranges. So what hands are in btn's bet flop/check turn/call river range? Do people cbet QQ-TT and 9x (or play mixed strategy depending on if we have a heart in our hand)? There are a lot of draws so there is something to be said for protection/value betting these hands, though on a board such as this what do we do to the check raise with those? A check raise would probably rep 55, K5 (probably suited and off suit), K9, and 95s as well as varying strength draws..... If people do cbet these 9x and TT-QQ hands then they are good candidates to bet flop, check turn, and call river on blank or blankish run outs. But other than that, what hands do we cbet flop and check back turn with? Feel like most Kx+ wanna keep betting given the plethora of draws and to balance when we are semi-bluffing versus a seemingly weaker range. I feel a lot who take this line will have hands like AhTx and QhJx or Th8x that didn't turn any more equity and have given up (and obviously other complete air). This is why I do not feel the call with A2 is that bad, but really would love to hear opinions on this.
From the bb perspective, when btn cbet 75% pot, we will probably call with KT, K8,K7, K6, K4s, K3s, K2s, A9, Q9, J9, T9, 98, 97, 96s, 94s, Ah5x, Qh5x, 85s, 75s, 65s, 54s.. as well as non-made hands (some may get c/r to balance with 2pr+) like 64hh, 76hh, 87hh, 68hh, 84hh, 74hh, 43hh, T8hh, JThh, J8hh, J7hh, J6hh, T7hh, T6hh, T4hh, Q8hh, Q7hh, Q6hh, Q4hh, Q3hh, Q2hh, A2hh, A3hh, A4hh, a6hh, a7hh, a8hh, 7h6x, 8h7x, 8h6x, JT (all combos), QT (all combos), QJ (all combos), AhTx, AhJx..... so on this run out, obviously there are a good amount value bets (Kx+) but there are also a lot of bluffs. Many of his draws just can't raise the flop that wide cause he doesn't have 99, KK in his range and doesn't purely have all the combos of two pairs (might not call pre with K5o or 95o and maybe 3b k9s sometimes). So this means a lot of his missed draws reach this river and aren't going to just check.... so A2 is probably one a few bluff catchers he has and I don't see why Sauce saw it as that bad.
I would love to hear people's opinions and am open to any criticism of my logic. I respect the entire RIO community as everyone here is so intelligent, so all opinions are valued and appreciated.
