Re-exploiting my best friend in $100 Heads up
So a little backstory. My best friend and I are both big enthusiasts just out of university. I have a 6k bankroll across ACR and ignition with 4k in withdrawals (this is the first summer that I've really gotten into poker), he graduated a year earlier than me and has a job and has probably lost 1k or so only on ignition (his br is a few hundred at the moment I think and he plays a solid amount.
We have been playing $100 heads up for 3 months. He loves to brag about being an "exploitative" player (he knows no math beyond the fact that pocket pairs and two overs are flipping and that a flush draw on the flop makes it 35% of the time) and rekt me pretty badly for the first 2 months since I was an especially exploitable HU player (not that I somehow am not anymore by changing my strategy). I went down 2.5k and played way way too nitty for heads up. I did a little heads up study last month in order to help me in mtts and sngs for online play, and over the past 3 weeks have worked down my debt to 1.5k (we play regularly and its a running debt, so neither of us have to pay until the debt swings past 3k-- then you have to pay to reduce the debt to a minimum of 2.9k to play again).
He peels way to often to my c-bets and bets on the turn. He calls me down way too light. And I over adjusted to my nitty mistakes and am probably playing too loose to get paid off when I have hands. We both love to call each other down with hero calls obviously since we're friends and its funny to catch someone.
We play this heads up home-game on bluffave.com, so there's no way to track hand or review card histories. How do I further adjust my heads up game to rekt my friend into oblivion? At the moment its super hard to bet him off of any hand, but I've been winning or tying most session that we play now recently and he has this idea in his mind that I could never have a hand. Which is nice because its kind of a reversal of our original heads up dynamic.
I'll admit we're both pretty mediocre heads-up players for sure. The biggest thing I notice is that neither of us three bet often beyond preflop. The game is 0.75/1.5 but trying to embarrass each other leads to some pretty big pots. Would appreciate any tips, thanks.
