NL600 Floated Bluff
SB: $603 (100.5 bb)
BB: $600 (100 bb)
UTG: $770.89 (128.5 bb)
MP: $1,050.09 (175 bb)
Hero (CO): $1,059.11 (176.5 bb)
BTN: $1,177.02 (196.2 bb)
Preflop: Hero is CO with Ks Jc
2 folds, Hero raises to $15, 2 folds, BB raises to $48, Hero calls $33
Villain is a newer reg running at 28/22 over about 100 hands. No reads or accurate stats other than that.
Flop: ($99) 9s 8d 7s (2 players)
BB bets $48, Hero calls $48
Given I have the gutter and the Ks, I decide to float here although this hand is likely the worst hand I float with.
Turn: ($195) Qh (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $132, BB calls $132
Missing everything, I bet here to try and take it down since I don't think the player pool check/jams the turn here too often nor do I think they're particularly balanced in this spot (I'm likely not either in his shoes). I also have blockers to JT,QJ,KQ, and KK.
Right or wrong, I think I need to either not bet at all if I think my hand has good enough SD value or bet most rivers if called. I think any spade, paired river, or overcard are decent enough cards for my range to jam the river and I'de likely give up on total blanks.
River: ($459) Ad (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $831.11
As far as value hands on this river, I will have 99,88,77,98s,87s,97s and JTs some % of the time when I don't raise flop with those hands. A floated AQ is also in my range making 29 total value combos I would play this way.
Perhaps bluffing KJo here with the nut blocker for 16 combos is the only hand I can really fire off otherwise I'de be overbluffing but I find it hard for myself to have a hand with 0 showdown value (pair or ace high) in this spot other than KT/KJ.
