I think it's a good idea to share this because it'll be my first attempt at really analysing a spot. Please tell me if I'm making mistakes/missing important details in my thought process or notation of this "exercise".
PREFLOP
I think preflop is standard.
FLOP 6c9s3h
Range (100 combo's): TT-77, AQs-ATs, KTs+, QJs, JTs, T9s, 98s, AQo-AJo, KQo
I think we shouldn't have a raising range because SB has a range advantage. He is unknown but I gave him a range of: TT+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, AJo+, KQo. He has about 55% equity vs our 45%.
Villain bets 50% pot -> desired #combo's defended = 66 Should we defend less than this because his range is stronger than ours?
Come up with this defending range (#64 combo's) : TT, 88-77, 9d9h, 9d9c, 9h9c, AQs, KhQh, KsQs, KcQc, AhJh, AsJs, AcJc, KhJh, KsJs, KcJc, QhJh, QsJs, QcJc, AhTh, AsTs, AcTc, KhTh, KsTs, KcTc, JhTh, JsTs, JcTc, Td9d, Th9h, Tc9c, 9d8d, 9h8h, 9c8c, AQo
TURN Tc (-7 combo's)
Range (57 combo's) : 88-77, TdTh, TdTs, ThTs, 9d9h, 9d9c, 9h9c, AQs, KhQh, KsQs, KcQc, AhJh, AsJs, AcJc, KhJh, KsJs, KcJc, QhJh, QsJs, QcJc, AhTh, AsTs, KhTh, KsTs, JhTh, JsTs, Td9d, Th9h, 9d8d, 9h8h, 9c8c, AQo
Villain bets 55% pot -> desired #combo's defended = 37
I think this looks decent (38 combo's): 88-77, TdTh, TdTs, ThTs, 9d9h, 9d9c, 9h9c, AcQc, KhQh, KsQs, KcQc, AcJc, KhJh, KsJs, KcJc, QhJh, QsJs, QcJc, AhTh, AsTs, KhTh, KsTs, Td9d, Th9h, 9d8d, 9h8h, 9c8c
We can shove a balanced range of 2 pair+ and semibluffs and call the rest. The question is which ones work best in which range?
Gonna try to find something that looks reasonable with piosolver...
Maybe I did some things wrong but this is the result:
It defends only 58% of our range which is slightly lower, but maybe this is because we're raising some hands instead of calling everything which makes villain realize less equity?
It decided to jam all monsters, why does it not matter that we can't have monsters on the river anymore when we just call the turn bet?
And on what basis does it sort our draws in the raising or calling range I wonder... It looks like having more showdownvalue makes AJs better as a call and a hand like KJs better as a raise.
