I'm 100bb deep with AJdd on the button in a loose preflop live game with 4 way action sometimes post. A LAG player who has been dominating the table with CR oop limps with about 250BB, 2 other limpers with 50-100BB. I raise to $10 and everyone calls, flop 8c8s2h. Everyone checks to me and I cbet $10 into $40 and the LAG CRs to approximately $35. everyone folds to me? I have seen this LAG show up with trash off suit broadway combos, Queen high as a bluff CR. I kind of wonder if he has an 8x but his CR frequency seems high in a largish pot so I may have the best hand, but some percentage of the time he will have combos of 8x but live I am not sure how many, but I haven't seen him show any 8x combos....
If I had checked behind I would have about a nonexact 24% chance to hit a J or A on the turn, but if I bet out half pot instead it makes it more difficult awkward I think for the LAG guy to CR bluff here to a larger sizing. Multiway if everyone has a certain loosish range with 4 players my equity is less than 50% and there is some chance that these players are creative and deceptive enough to slow play an 8x hand here so I don't think I can totally discount the possibility of an 8x hand being here. In an SNG at the late stages I would go AI here of course but I don't think I can. If I had just limped AJdd on the button it might have lowered my variance and I could have lost the minimum.
I don't have 50% equity here so I'm not sure I can bet, the players with loose ranges have more equity than me and a check raise with an 8x is possible, it could have been possible that the 2 other players even folded a 33-77 pair between or maybe rarely a 99 to a checkraise here.
It's interesting on pokerstove if you assign could assign some kind of loose generic suited connector, offsuit connector, Jx,Qx,9To, 89s range to the players then AJdd is behind the other player ranges.
when I bet the same amount this is clearly showing weakness but sometimes I would do this perhaps at 100% or another frequency with an 8x or TT+ also to induce action
I think this player doesn't have much knowledge but just by aggression he robbed me and showed Q9o and threw it in my face
