Utg was a guy we had some aggressive history in two tables.
In the beginning, i 3bet him twice and on relative dry boards he raised every cbet i made in both hands and i folded my air.
And a third time he cold call me (in another table) and raised my cbet again, in a single raised pot that time with just a KJ on K74r (obviously taking advantage of the history we had since his is not getting called by worst on this flop).
Anyhow i felt obliged ,in a way, to call him twice with A7. The board was ridiculously dry and he wasn't representing much. Think to note is that he did no bet river in that hand and he preferred to check back (rightfully i guess).
In that table where i had position vs him i had 3bet 2 strong hands vs him and unfortunately he did not gave me any action in any of them.
He did not 4bet ever ,even if we had history.
His stats were VPIP/PFR/AFq/AF 20/15/49/4.9 in 350 hands.
RFI 10% utg (maybe in reality wider since MP was 17% n CO 14%) and Ft3bet 71%.
Preflop my thinking was that his range was pocket pair heavy from utg so i could do a bluff 3bet and try to take the pot with a cbet on the flop, since firstly he was going to call me lighter with his pocket pairs thinking he has implied odds with deep stacks and secondly he wasn't going to hit often.
At the same time i thought my hand had blockers (not the best blockers vs a tight utg range ,i know , but still blockers) and that he is still folding an exploitable amount of the time, anyway.
On the flop i hit a pair and i check it back trying to go to showdown with it since i beat the most part of his range. At the same time i could induce a bluff or get called lighter by As and 88-JJ on the turn.
When he bets turn i cannot raise so i call.
On the river he bets to me small and i see it as a blocking bet/ thin value bet.
He would do that with some pp thinking that i can fold my flush draws or with AQ, KJ kind of hands which are on his utg range and beat me anyway. Sets were going to bet bigger.
So i thought that if i raised i would have more chances of winning the pot since i could fold hands up to AK (sometimes) and easily represent a flush the way i played the hand.
His WTSD was 21 just a note for his natural tendencies since we had dynamics and things are different.
