Middle set on draw-heavy turn
BB: $54.12
CO: $53.59
BN: $49.25
CO raises to $1.25, BN folds, Hero calls $1, BB folds
Opponent is unknown. So this is a spot that I feel uncomfortable playing my strong hands like sets and 2 pair. Board is drawy and maybe the turn brings another draw as well with straight or flush possible and I bet again and get raised. It's situations where I think my hand's too strong to fold, but the times I come over the top (esp with deeper stacks where I'm assuming villain won't be bet-calling with a draw if he's bluff raising) and get action I'm most likely beat. On the other hand just calling and playing the river oop sucks too, because I think a lot of players check behind smaller sets or 2 pairs that they where raising for value/protection OTT and don't bluff "enough" on the river which makes most river gross to call a shove/big bet on even when it bricks. But then just calling and leading the river also feels weird as one of the reasons to just call the turn would be to pick off bluffs on the river, no?
I don't know what is standard play in situations like this but would like to hear your comments :)
