Learning structure
Hi Guys
I have been trying to improve my game slowly over the last couple of years and sometimes I get so overwhelmed with all the information that is required to perform at your best that I forget certain aspects I should be looking out for during play and after I review a session I get furious with myself for missing them. For example, in live play I'll be observing players so intently that i'll completely miss looking for betting patterns and visa versa.
I have recently read 'The Mental Game of Poker' and 'Positive Poker', both great books and both put an emphasis on learning aspects of the game in blocks, so betting patterns, hand ranges, small blind play, deep stack play for example so that they will come 'naturally' and my mind wont be so occupied during play. I have enough knowledge of the game to understand pre flop hand selection but I was interested in hearing your thoughts on what I should focus on predominantly to develop a solid game?
I understand this is a very novice post :) but if anyone has any feedback it would much appreciated.
Thanks.
