JcJs on QQx 170bb deep.
$2-$3-$5 game
Five handed
Effective stacks roughly $850
Villain description:
60/30 style. Standard raise 4-5bb ($20-$25). Very laggy with high donk bet percentage. Unorthodox style. Game is running around this guy.
HJ Opens $30
Hero calls CO JcJs.
BTN folds
SB calls as well.
BB folds
Preflop notes: JJ is usually a pure 3 bet for me 5 handed. I elected to flat call preflop do to the extra BB he sized up with.
Flop ($95) QhQd8d
SB X
HJ X
Hero $40
SB folds
HJ calls.
Flop notes: I think his check calling range contains hands like AdTc or AhTh with some type of back door draws. Some possibly Qx hands. I expect most of his flush draws to bet the flop and most Qx to bet as well. I think he can slow play QQ or 88.
Turn ($175) Qh-Qd-8d-6d
HJ donk bets $140
Hero calls.
Turn notes When he donk leads turn I am taking 88 and QQ out of his range here. Some flushes he can lead here with. Maybe a hand like KsQs that is getting value / protection. A hand like 98s is not unreasonable for him as well. Big sizing postflop is pretty standard for him. I think my hand is too strong to fold to a check / donk bet turn line.
River ($455) Qh-Qd-8d-6d-Jh
HJ checks
Hero $325
HJ all in $652.
hero calls.
On the river when he checks I am now mostly targeting Qx or small flush. Maybe he puts me on a hand like AdJx that stabbed the flop? I am not sure what his checking range looks like here. The check raise surprised me. I think he can have some Adxd, maybe half combos as I expect most of his flush draws to bet the flop. Just a really strange line of: Raise pre, X / C flop, donk turn, check / raise river....
I think if he were to bet this river then JJ becomes clear all in for me right? Against Check raise I still think I have a pretty clear call given $1,432 in the pot and $327 to call. Given his $30 raise preflop I am not putting QJs or Q8s in his range here. Not putting him on quads either given his turn donk sizing being polarized.
