If We Think They're Bluffing How Much Action Do We Really Want to Induce?
OK, I know you're thinking "WTF is he talking about?" I know, I know but please bear with me for a moment :)
Let's say that we're up against an aggressive opponent on the flop and he raised our bet. We also have a strong read that he's bluffing or semi-bluffing with a draw. We only have something like top medium kicker or even top pair no kicker.
So on hand we want to induce more bluffs on later streets. On the other hand we really don't have a hand to play a big pot with. Even though our read is very strong - what if we're wrong?
The reason I'm even asking this question is because we can influence how much bluffing there will be on later streets (especially live). How? Simple - if we call quickly - that's seen as strength and V is less likely to fire more barrels - if we take longer - he's more likely to continue firing.
So then given the above situation should I call quickly to discourage further bluffing and keep pot size managable or should I call slower to induce more bluffs but risk the possibility of bloating the pot when we're wrong (and of course we'll be wrong sometimes)?
P.S. I hope this makes sense.
