Heads up 3bet pot- best way to play AA?
Blinds 10/20. Heads up both 70bb deep. Villain raises to 50 and we 3bet AA to 160. Villain calls the 3bet. He calls really wide with any two suited and offsuits such as 107o and 54o.
Flop is Jh10c10D.
Here is a breakdown of villains range:
12.2% of his range here is 3of a kind or better.
and he has 12.8% top pair.
I'm trying to come up with a strategy to maximize the EV of AA here.
If we pot flop and turn we will be all in on turn. Bet 320 on flop and pot is 960 on turn. Shove remaining 940 on turn.
Villain will have to defend 25% of his range for us not to profit with our bluffs. So with this strategy he will be forced to stack off every Jack on turn cards between 2-7. When we shove AA and are called on the turn it is very marginally winning. But we also do get to fold off equity from all of his straight draws such as 98o and Q9o.
Is this the best strategy with AA here? Stacking off vs all Jacks and also tens?
If we incorporate small bets or checks with AA here we will not stack off vs Jacks but will still be facing river all ins vs 10's. So I dont think this is great either.
Against someone under bluffing then It is definitely best to bet two small streets to get value from Jacks and fold river. But against someone who always makes AA an indifferent bluff catcher on river then i think this strategy may actually be best becuase we get value from all of his Jacks.
Obviously its not winning a lot but AA is not in great shape here anyway on 1010J.
Wonder about your thoughts and if there is a better way to play AA here?
