Heads UP 30bbs Cap. How to play stack right ? GTO please
SB: $600
SB raises to $40, Hero calls $20
Villain is a reg and plays around 63% in the SB and limps 20% (bottom of his range mostly weak Qx Jx combos as well as low unconnected suited and unsuited connectors). This fact makes me believe that c/r might be the best play on the flop as his range for minraising misses this board pretty good however i have only around 42% equity vs his entire range on the flop.
He cbets around 85%. I assume this spot gets cbet by him almost all of the time. Since his cbet on the turn is on the lowside I often get to the river and can realise my equity for free. He cbets turn less than 50% on turns which is quite low as he raises a tigther range on the button. So I called vs this reg here on the flop.
Problem on connected boards like these which are connected is that most regs I play and myself tend to fastplay their valuehands which is reasonable as you do not want your opponent to realise his good equity cheap against you.
But in terms of balance this is quite bad.So I am totally exploitable here and almost always capped and even though he sucks how do I play my ranges on boards like this and hands like this against good regs?
I should stack off with a 5 here on the flop everytime .One option would be to checkshove hands like this on the Turn especially vs stronger regs who I know would bet the turn with almost their entire range (OESD, 1 pair+ flushdraw), but on the other side if i seriously float QJs on the flop and hit that Q or i flat Q4 i would never checkshove here as I am certain to get barreled into on the river so often by air. But all his barrelhands will not be able to call my shove. Even by doing that I cannot balance my weak c/calling range enough and protect my floats and weakpairs.
What would be the GTO approach?
