Good winrate online, but struggling in soft live games
Looking for tips why this may be the case for me, maybe someone had the same experience?
Im a winner at midstakes 6max online last 3 years, but when i go play live my game seems to suffer.
The game i play live is a 9handed not so high stake. Extremly splashy and alot of multiway spots wich is a big difference from online.
My natural style is pretty aggro liking to fight alot for pots as comming from an online background. But in those live settings i feel pretty frustrated because not many ''online'' spots comes up. For example, it is very rare to even play a headsup pot, so knowing how to put pressure and threatening stacks in headsup pots is for very little use in those games, and anyway most players are recrationals and callingstations.
One way to combat those 4-6 way pots with wide range could ofcourse be to start going for huge RFI sizings like 8x, and i will eventually se more flops headsup and 3way, im not sure that's a thing live? The other regulars uses standard live sizings, 4-5x sometimes 6x.
So i wonder if someone had similar experience? And what the best adjustments are?
I know some people recommend a very tight solid approach in the games i describe, and others recommend getting in there all the time claiming that we can basically own people enough postflop that we dont need to play very solid preflop. One guy that is known for this splashy style is Garret adeilstein, highstake crusher and he seems to make it work.
Im not sure that's possibole in my game tho. I really like to get involved and play a loose game, but i feel really handicaped in those games.
Is the only solution to just play like a boring nit? I hope not :((
The funny thing is also that i have better results when i have played in ''thougher'' higher stakes games live, wich i guess should not be the case?
But i suffer in the game with recrationals where everyone splashes around. Or maybe the variance is just huge in splashy games and i have been running bad?
