BTN seems to 3b a lot, but sample is small. He's less likely to 3b very light here with the 35bb stack being involved. I'm always wondering what to do with 88-TT / AJs-AQ type of hands here.
With 20bb already in the middle, should we 4b/stack off with those hands? Should we 4b/fold? should we cold call? Should we fold? All options seem marginal and neutral EV IMO, so I usually choose the less stressing route / low variance and just fold, because I don't believe I'm making much money either way, I'm too constrained by relative positions.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of variance, and pretty often I play like a maniac. But in those spots I cannot really define my edge and prefer to let them go. I think it's interesting to consider the EV of the spot, but also the EV of choosing his spots when grinding for a living.
