Discussing SNOWIE Preflop Advice
Hey,
so as far as I understand PokerSnowies preflop advice in general is a good starting point, right?
I don't own PokerSnowie but here: https://www.pokersnowie.com/pftapp/index.html you can sort of get a glimpse into general directions.
I am glad to discuss general considerations in this thread but I would like to start of with a specific question and that is:
the big difference between the IP defending range vs a SB 3bet vs vs the defending range facing a BB 3b
Why does Snowie want to defend WIDER vs a tighter 3b range from the BB and tighter vs. a loser SB 3b range?
Concrete:
HERO opens from EP to 2.5BB
SB is supposed to
-3b: AKo, JJ+, AJs+, A2-A5s, and some mixed strategys for roughly ~5% of range 3b
HERO is supposed to defend vs SB 3b:
-4b: AA, a bunch of mixed Axs
-call: 55-KK, ATs+, AKo, KQs, AND (and this is weird: suited connectors THAT SNOWIE DOESNT EVEN SUGGEST TO RAISE from EP in the first place???)
for overall ~8,6%
vs the raise from EP
BB is supposed to
-3b: (with mixed strategys, simplified:) QQ+, ATs+, A4s for ~2,8% vs the above mentioned~5% from SB
HERO THEN is supposed to defend vs BB 3b:
-4b: AA, a bunch of mixed Axs, some offsuit again
-call: KK-22, ATs+, KTs+, QTs+, J9s+, T8s+, 98s, 87s, 75s+, 64s+, 53s+, 43s, AKo for ~13%
WHICH
a) is MORE than vs a SB 3bet EVEN THOUGH BB 3bets nut heavier... and less which I don't "understand"
b) INCLUDES 22-44, 34s etc. WHICH as to it's own advice shouldn't even be raised first in from early Position
How can we make sense of this?!
