Decent spot to turn bluff with air?

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (6 Players) BB: $53.02
UTG: $57.75
MP: $37.35
CO: $29.31
BN: $60.91 (Hero)
SB: $27.39
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is BN with 5 8
2 folds, CO calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, SB calls $0.25, BB checks
I could raise here, but there are a lot of people who like to limp/call, so I elect to just limp behind. My hand is rather marginal.
Flop ($2.00) 7 K 2
SB checks, BB checks, CO checks, Hero checks
I have absolutely nothing, so I plan to give up.
Turn ($2.00) 7 K 2 7
SB checks, BB checks, CO bets $1.00, Hero raises to $3.20, SB folds, BB folds, CO folds
Nobody has shown any interest in the pot. CO takes a stab. I figure that my hand is a decent bluff hand for the following reasons:

I have no SDV.
I don't block any FD. There are two flush draws out there.
I block several nutted hands like 87 and 75.
People play straightforwardly in multiway pots, and his sizing looks weak.
My story of having a 7 makes sense.

So I decide to go for it. Was it a good idea?
