Blind vs Blind | Flushdraw vs 'capped' range - do you go "ham"?
SB: $643.29 (Hero)
BB: $500.00
UTG: $4470.28
MP: $670.97
CO: $500.00
Rake is $3.00
So villain is a standard, good agressive regular; we haven't played much, so no real history to speak of
OTF I am theoretically a little bit unsound in deciding which betsize generally is best for our range..
1/3 1/2 3/4...?!..
Facing the flopraise I find myself in a common dilemma:
figuring out how hard I should try to 'exploit' the fact that we both (most likely) know that he can't have AA, KK, AK and with which hands I should, if ever, represent one of them.
So - if he raises A7 or 77 here - do you think there is ever a non-spade-runout or a line I can take vs which he folds his hand?
If I never turn my hand into any form of a bluff, can I even call the flopraise?
Despite the fact that he most likely never has AA, KK, and for the most part AK he will probably still raise:
77, A7, QJ spades, JT spades, QT spades .... mayyybe a Qspade 7, or sort of a Q spade x hand peppered in for the lulz..
and maybe an AxQ spades for thinnish value!?...
Ingame I find this is a pretty automatic call on the flop but the more I really think about this hand the more I feel this is almost a fold unless we have a really good plan,... but at the same time its pretty tough to execute a good plan here out of position.
My best hope is that I backdoor a straight, or the turn blanks, he checks behind and I can bet/overbet/checkraise of sorts a blank river..!?
Or of course that I make the flush and he only bets one more street and the board doesnt pair...
I am fine with the way I played the hand given this turn but I think there is something to learn here.
All thoughts appreciated, thank you and kind regards
