50NL - KK in 4bet pot on JT9 board

Villain is host of the home game and is a winning player who crushes his home game. We're playing 50NL $0.25/0.50 blinds with a $100 max buy-in. This was live game, so there isn't a hand history converter. Please bear with me. Here's the action:

I'm in early position and open $3 which was the standard open at this game. Villain instant 3-bets to $10 and action folds around to me. I 4-bet to $33 with KK and Villain smiles and calls. Effective stacks are about $125 before any betting. Pot is $66 and SPR is 1.5.

Flop comes: JT9, rainbow.

I check and Villain fires $38, roughly half pot. I call. At this point, his range is either JJ or QQ, since I think he's good enough to fold TT and 99 versus my EP 4-bet and will get it in preflop with AA and KK.

Turn: 8.

I check. Villain checks.

River: J.

I check and Villain puts me all in. I snap fold.

Thoughts on the hand? In retrospect, I think I should've bet/called or check/raised OTF since we're crushing QQ and still have 23% equity versus JJ. Thanks.
