3b squeeze KhJ BBvBTN,SB flop Qh9h4h
[This hand was played by a friend of mine and we were discussing it, i want to test my intuition before i do detailed range analysis]
BTN folds with reasonable freq. SB is a loose, passive and the target at the table.
Friend: what do you think of my turn check behind and is my river shove reasonable?
So my immediate thoughts were versus a regular who has a SB flatting range, his flop continuing range is narrow and i'm less inclined to barrel the turn. Versus this particularly villain however, i'm expecting him to peel once on this flop and fold the turn with a high freq. OR call flop and turn only to fold river. (I've assumed a 1/2pot cbet is immediately profitable and i haven't included a flop check back range. On these monotone boards i prefer a bet with almost my entire 3bet range versus this villain)
Going over the lines OTT we have:
you bet and he folds: his light flop peels 9x, 88 and lower:h some KJ/KT/JT/T8?
you bet and he calls: you prob behind but have eq.
you bet and he shoves: you now call or fold .. also with freq./eq. - bet sizing important here as the smaller flop sizing might mean that the turn bet wouldn't have priced you in from a turn check-shove from a passive player
