200NL BB Defend Flopped Set No Value
Anonymous tables no reads no HUD. I feel like I butchered this one but also think it is a strange hand. Is villain's line here common? Very surprised they did not bet turn.
Ignition | No Limit Hold'em Cash - $1/$2 - 6 players
Hand #3428840811 - delivered by Pokeit
BTN Seat 1: $187.80 (93.9 bb)
CO Seat 6: $204.00 (102 bb)
MP Seat 5: $340.40 (170.2 bb)
UTG Seat 4: $142.75 (71.4 bb)
BB Hero: $190.00 (95 bb)
SB Seat 2: $420.79 (210.4 bb)
Pre-Flop: ($3.00) Hero (Hero) is BB with 2♣ 2♦
Seat 4 raises $4.00 to $6.00, 4 players fold, Hero calls $4.00
-- I think you could argue a fold pre but pot odds. Are you guys defending any pair here? I tend to defend pretty wide and probably too wide sometimes (although I don't think 22 is too wide). I'm going to be 3betting linear here and never 3b bluffing these type of hands.
Flop: 4♦ A♣ 2♥ ($13.00) (2 players)
Hero checks, Seat 4 bets $6.50, Hero calls $6.50
-Clear Check-Raise? Or mixed with a good amount of check calls? Hard for us to rep anything and a lot of villain's range contains an Ace, which makes me think we should just x/r all 2p, sets, and straights here. I can also have hands like 34s, 45s, 56s, A3s, A5s and can probably throw a bunch of those into my check raising range as well. I'm not gonna have a leading range here, but still not sure how to play my x/r range and what strong hands (if any) to check back.
Turn: A♠ ($26.00) (2 players)
Hero checks, Seat 4 checks
-As Played I felt that villain should always be barreling all Ax here. This turned out to be an incorrect assumption, but WTF? Is this just an anomaly or is the pool maybe really doing this a lot? It kind of sucks that the As rolled instead of an A that brings a BDFD which I could more credibly x/r turn on.
River: 3♥ ($26.00) (2 players)
Hero bets $16.00, Seat 4 calls $16.00
- Given villain's line here I felt the river was a pretty bad card for their range and that they would check behind most of the time, so I lead here for value and chose a sizing that I think a hand like TT can call.
Final Pot: ($55.10 | rake $2.90) (2 players)
Seat 4 shows A♦ T♣ (three of a kind, Aces) -$28.50
Hero shows 2♣ 2♦ (a full house, Twos full of Aces) +$26.60
