2 similar tough spots at 100NL
I ran into these two pretty similar spots playing 100NL zone on Bovada so no reads on opponents...
First Hand:
SB: $137.29
BB: $30.72
UTG: $93.5
UTG+1: $100
CO [HERO]: $218.89 (QsQd)
BTN [VILLAIN]: $99
Pre-Flop: UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $3.00, BTN calls, SB folds, BB calls...
Flop ($9.50): AsJs10c
BB checks, Hero bets $5.00, BTN raises to $11, BB folds, Hero calls...
Turn ($31.50): 8s
Hero checks, BTN bets $12.00, Hero calls
River ($55.50): 7s
Hero bets $37.22, BTN raises all in for $73.00, Hero...
In hindsight I think I'd prefer X/C on the river instead of leading out but I can't see folding the second nut-high flush here... is there anyway to fold this hand or are we getting it in here every time? Is calling the flop/turn wrong?
Second hand (not much later in the same session. I didn't realize until typing this up that the villain was BB):
SB: $110.94
BB: $66.92
UTG: $142.2
UTG+1 [HERO]: $94.04 AhQc
CO: $87.50
BTN: $256.92
Pre-flop:
UTG folds, Hero raises to $3.00, CO folds, BTN folds, SB folds, BB calls...
Flop ($6.50): Qh5dKs
BB bets $4.53, Hero calls...
Turn ($15.56) Ad
BB bets $6.40, Hero calls...
River ($28.36): 3c
BB checks, Hero bets $20.11, BB raises all-in for $53.99, Hero...
Again, in hindsight I think I like checking back much better than leading out (hence why I think these spots are similar) but I'm probably being biased because I know the result of the hand. I don't think there's any way to fold this after leading out but I think checking back is the smartest move. I think my logic was to bet big to trick him into making a hero call.
Would love the collective opinion on these hands, thanks everyone.
