Large Live tournament preparation

I have been playing poker for a long time recreationally (<<apparently misspelled or not a word). I am 28, and essentially made a living on poker from 19-22 when the online games were going. The last 5 years I have stayed in touch with the game, playing live here and there and have maintained most of my 'feel' for the most part. I am probably a little over confident in certain situations, but this is just my lack of respect for the average 'older' live player.

There is a live tournament coming to my home casino soon, I am unaware of the structure or exactly how it will be ran. For now I would assume poorly based from the way the cash games and tournaments are ran here, but I am hoping the tournament brings its own 'group'. However, it is 100k guarenteed with a 1k buy in. Something we have never seen anything close to, and although I realize it is one tournament, I would like to give myself the highest chance of playing as well in it as possible.

1. If the tournament is moving at a faster bling level say <30min with slow dealers and a quick blind/ante structure what can I do to study my jamming ranges? And how should I adjust my style of play? This is a big leak for me, I am a very strong post flop player and hand reader, but struggle with a mid stack late in tournaments with 8-15bb stacks when the tournament moves quickly.

2. If it is moving at a good blind level, do I play my game aggressive during antes open a little wider, using pot control, and small pot poker until I get my opportunity, OR should I stay tight and aggressive? vpip 9ish opening %7 is probably close to my tournament style live. Depending on adjustments to position and players.

I rarely 3bet a polarized range live, keeping it just stictly at the top, I guess you could call it "exploitable" I just feel my post flop abilities allow me to have this style. I also have a very young aggressive 'look' so in general people want to beat me causing me to get called light for the most part at all spots.

For the sake of this post and trying to look "short term" 1 tournament is it ok to JUST 3bet the top 3% of your range or should I be staying balanced even over the course of 1 tournament? (I realize we think long term, and short term might not make sense..but for the sake of conversation).

I am looking for advice to retool and sharpen my game, anything anyone can help me with would be great. I am going to try and start to get more involved in posting with hands on here, and I have already watched most of the videos with tournaments over the course of my membership. Basically just looking to see if there are any other Americans out there that have been in my situation, and have done anything to sharpen their game back up. I know this site is mostly based off online play, and I feel live at least where I am (Indiana) plays quite a bit different. Any good video recommendations would be great.

Cliffnotes: Any advice on the best type of strategy for a larger buy in probably small field tournament would help. I usually fair pretty well in tournament poker in general, but play a very tight aggressive style. I usually don't merge my ranges and stay extremely at the high end of my range as far as 3bet/4betting. How important will it be for me to open that up, and to be more aggressive with my 3bets? I have about 2 months before it is here. Any advice or guidance would be awesome. Thanks.
