Adjusting from online to live MTTs
How do you guys adjust from playing online tournaments to live tournaments? I never had a problem with this until recently after about a year of only playing online MTTs. Before, I played a lot of both so it wasn't such a huge difference when I was in one or the other.
For example:
My 1st live MTT I played after a year of online only I found myself trying to isolate pre like I would online. It seemed like half the table was limp calling any amount preflop no matter how much or what hands you've shown down. After I busted rather early I thought for awhile what I could do to re-adjust. I came to the conclusion I just had to tighten up my range I raised with and just let them limp and out play them post flop. This was a huge change for me as I had become very loose aggressive online. You just don't get people limp calling every hand in MTTs online in this day and age on the American sites and it's pretty easy to isolate any time you want. After making this adjustment I shipped the next two I played, but it left me wondering; What do other online players struggle with when they A.) first start live or B.) go back to playing live after an extended absence.
