1 tabling MTTs - Crazy right?
I have recently been playing $55 tournaments on 888. I don't currently have the bankroll to support this buy-in, so I'm normally playing $5 sats until I achieve multiple entries, then proceed to play one at a time. I find I play my best in this situation, where there's actually something to play for, and I'm up about 2k in 2 weeks (only played 5). I understand this is an incredibly small sample size, but after reviewing hand histories on pokertracker I know I was on my 'A' game in these tournaments.
I've always found my level of play to go down substantially when multi tabling, but I also understand it sucks to bubble after 5 hours and have no other tournies to fall back on in session. I use to 4-6 table sit and goes but those days are long gone. I would appreciate someones opinion who has gone through something similar. Am I better off playing 1-2 tables at a time? Are there any suggestions as to where I go from here? I am a competent player and have earned around 15k on stars, but as I said that was playing SNGs. I was also considering the "raise your edge tournament class". Might learning and understanding the game better allow me to multi table more efficiently? Im all for investing in my game and don't need to see immediate returns if this course is worthwhile..
