Thinking Process and Weighting of arguments
Hello,
I was watching What Would You Do? (part 2) Posted by Paul Atwal.
"Hand 4 :
BTN open 2.5x
SB 3-bet 8x
BTN call
Flop : 9h 9d 7d
Which of the following hands shoud SB check most often ?
A) 5h4h .
B) QcJs .
...
"
My answer was B for the following reasons :
. This hand has not a good barrel potential (only backdoor straight draw of which outs (T,8) improve BTN's calling range).
. We obviously won't be paid by worse and and it is more difficult for QcJs to make a better hand fold rather than 5h4h.
. 5h 4h are of course 2 undercards but our outs with QcJs are not always clean. On this texture we will certainly bet small (i.e : around 1/3 pot) therefore Vilain could float with AQ, AJ and maybe KQ.
. QcJs blocks more the BTN's folding range than 5h4h
Does the fact that Qc Js are 2 overcards offset all these arguments ?
In the comparison of these two holdings what are the most relevant things to consider ?
What is the weighting of each consideration ?
What will be your thinking process ?
Thanks
