RIO for non-English speakers
I'm half French/half American and play on .fr because I'm currently living in France. I was sitting here the other day wondering why so many players I know use pretty questionable coaching sites in their native language, with questionable coaches and questionable pricing when a fairly obvious fact hit me! Despite my continued insistance that anyone and everyone get at least an Essential subscription if they care at all about poker, or at least read these forums for free, many don't for one simple reason: their English is quite terrible.
I wondered if you (Phil) or those who run the site with you have ever thought about localizing some of the content with subtitles for a few languages? It would take some data to know how big the market would be for it. Given what I've read around the Web about pricings and profitability, I'm guessing maybe only Elite videos. If there's a point to it, I know at least a few competent people with solid understanding of English + a few target languages (German, French, Italian to name a few) as well as fluency in poker linguo in those language pairs. I myself used to be a translator actually. Anyway, not particularly mentioning this to offer my services, just a general thought. I believed probably the market for non-English speakers in poker was fairly limited, but it seems more people than we may guess don't use 2+2 or RIO due to that language barrier. The only question that remains is how many of them would pay for the service if it was localized.
