How do You guys deal with badbeats vs regs?
Hey all. I'm kindda new here, I read the analysis section all the time, but never write anything.
I'm not a pro player, I play about 15-20k hands a month, grinded my way to nl25 (making shots at nl50). I think, that what keeps me from grinding nl50+ is my mental problem.
I used to have a mindset problem with badbeats from fish, but I found a way to deal with them, I have a mantra I repeat to myself, that justifies their decisions, and I know that their way of playing is the reason why thy lose money. This I owe to reading "Mental Game of Poker" and "Poker Mindset".
Somehow I can't apply the same technique in situations vs regulars. I tend to take it personally and eventually tilt. An example from yesterday, I 3bet a regular from BTN with AA, he calls, Flop is K94r, he check/raises, I ship, he shows K9. I don't feel exploited, I feel kinda offended, by lack of respect for my play, you know? I mean who calls K9o OOP on nl25? It wouldn't bother me if it was a recreational player, but a 20/18 regular who folds to 3bets about 70%? For the record, I don't 3bet more than 7%, so yaeh, I do it for bluff sometimes.
I would super appreciate it if anyone would share their experience on the subject.
