So..haven't played poker in a few years, I used to play up to nl50 before, then came back recently to give it another shot. Currently i am struggling in nl5, which isn't all too surprising considering how long i was gone and the fact that the games are harder and play differently. So starting with the assumption that i suck i am trying to fix ,first and foremost, the glaring errors in my game. I have noticed that i am losing alot in 3bet pots over a semi large sample of hands in nl5.I used these filters in pt4-((Hands Went to Showdown) AND (Saw Showdown)) AND (Bet Flop Continuation Bet) AND (Raised Preflop Any 3Bet) AND (Called Flop Any Call). 21 hands popped up with -2800bb/100 won and -29$. I then removed the filter AND (Called Flop Any Call) to see how i'm doing overall in 3bet pots.145 hands popped up with -1000bb/100 won and -74$ won All in-ev adjusted .Quick review of the hands showed that in a lot of situations when i was facing a raise on the flop or turn, my 1pair/overpair hand was no good and was up against a set or better. In the cases where villain did raise without a better hand, like with a straight or flush draw or even a worse pair, he would not bet the river unimproved. I do not have a single hand where i get shoved on the river as a bluff. It was always a semi-bluff or set+ on the flop/turn and always a nutted hand on the river. It would be the case back in the day that you could go nuts in 3bet pots with an overpair and not care about results, but this might not be the case any more. Am i looking at a serious overplay of my tptk/overpair type of hands in 3bet pots and/or a combination of bad variance? Would like some advice as to how to proceed with my limited experience in database analysis since i would rather not make bad adjustments .
TLDR version; getting owned in 3bet pots in nl5 over a large sample , playing tptk/overpair type of hands aggressively and not folding much to flop/turn/river aggression. Should i start folding QQ-AA type of hands facing river shoves in 3bet pots and/or flop/turn raises ?
