maybe you could enhance resolution of video, I cannot watch HUD :)
mike 12 years, 2 months agoyeah the video quality sucked as it was hard to see HUD/poker stove but Sean did good job with all explanations :)
you mentioned that you will MR v 28% 3B guys unless deep - what is the 3B threshold at which you feel it important to MR on 100bb?
is the just under 1/2 pot turn bet you standard bit size in this spot on all boards/stack sizes?
Sean Lefort12 years, 2 months agoI mean it's difficult to define thresholds on such a topic because it comes down to guessing how your opponent is playing vs. each strategy and then speculating which will offer more value to you.
@100bb, if someone is 3betting 25%+ then they need to be playing pretty poorly in those pots (ie. are noticeably exploitable in some way) for me to want to 3x vs. MR. If they're sub-20%, I like to get a feel for how they're playing and will sometimes switch up MR/3x and look for how they adjust. Ie. if against MR they seem to defend appropriately but against 3x they don't really adjust and don't play all that well in SRPs OOP, it makes sense to 3x.
The just under 1/2pot turn bet was discussed as an exploitative-based sizing for the situation and my specific hand. I think i'll likely have two bet-sizes in that scenario, another one that allows for a river jam. The larger one will be more polarized in a sense, while also containing the more vulnerable value hands.
mike 12 years, 2 months agoas far as ideas for future videos - i am really interested in better understanding GTO and learning HU from the ground up so to speak(i am experienced 6m and FR guy)
more like your HUNLH preflop video
how to play a good 3B/4B/5B game - that is ranges and frequencies that are close to GTO for 3B or calling - ranges and frequencies for calling 3B or 4Bing
approach to CB game
leading vs XC/XF/XR
i learn really well when i have a basic strategy or mental template for how i plan to play. i feel like once i have that in place i can adjust to different player types
as i write more i realize i want a how to play HUNLH foundational series for the 6m guy with detailed analysis
since this video mentioned CREV and equity realization - i would like to hear more about how to best set up the equity realization used in the check down feature?
Sean Lefort12 years, 2 months agoI'll take all that into consideration when contemplating future material. Of course, it's difficult to keep everyone happy but all input is much appreciated and will receive consideration. :) Note that I'm usually 4-5 videos ahead, as in the next video I produce will be released 4-5 videos from now. The next few videos are actually a small series on some 6-max concepts. I'll make sure to get back to HU stuff next.
Teddy12 years, 2 months agoI´d like to see a video on your approach to cbetting/barrelling, as long as it is about theory and not exploitive play. I´d like it to include thoughts on how to play the flop/turn checks as well and not just the betting range, unless you are betting 100% for some reason..
Keep up the good work Sean.
scout12311 years, 11 months agoyou pretty clearly overlook the scenario where u make your hand on the river and he check folds when he would have had stacks in on the turn when u jam. this will happen often on the 4 straight runnout
Really interesting spot! I have a comment with regards to our "15 very clean outs":
Out of the 9 cards that make a flush, 9d and 3d potentially give him a full house. If river is a T or 5, villain should actually be check/folding his sets, 2pairs and overpairs (especially on Td or 5d). When we make a straight and he bets, we should be expecting to split the pot most of the time.
Here is how I would view all potential rivers:
8 cards that make the nuts & kill our action
5 cards that make the nuts without killing our action
2 cards that make semi nuts & don't kill our action
3 cards that make a decent bluff catcher & don't kill our action
43 cards where we have to fold to a bet & can't bet if checked to & very rarely win a checkdown
That's a total of 7 river cards that are really good for us. The fact that our opponent is more likely to check/fold rivers that complete our draws should weigh down on calling and lift jam as an option. I don't have an opinion which is better, just thought this was missing from the analysis.
