Richard Hoadley12 years agoAround 40 mins you 4bj Q9s for about 30bb vs a 4x 3bet. If I were to think he were light i'd most likely 4b/fold here. I feel the folds we get will almost be the same, it's lower variance and we still have a stack we are comfortable with should we have to fold, even though Q9s will have decent equity that we will be folding.
What do you think is the best option? Also, what value hands do you just jam 30bb in vs a 4x 3b?
If you had opened Ax in this spot would you 4b/fold when bluffing as it is more likely to be dominated when called?
Grayson Ramage12 years agoSince his 3bet is so small, I think we could 4bet to around 7.5BB. While we definitely get away more cheaply by 4b/folding when he actually has a hand, Ash is definitely capable of 5betting light (an option we take away from him by shoving) , so I'm not sure that 4b/folding is preferable to shoving. My 4b/shoving value range depends on the opponent and his tendencies. Axs actually has about the same equity as Q9s against his expected calling range, so I don't mind shoving with suited Ax. With Axo I would be more likely to 4b/fold than shove.
